“The peacefulness that you’re looking for is right inside of you; that’s something I believe in and have learned through my practice.”
Tell us about your early roots in your practice of choice.
I first got started with yoga simply to learn about flexibility and movement. At the time, I had no idea that such great and profound insight would unfold for me through the practice.
What inspires you in your practice?
I’m inspired by the practices of yoga asana and meditation; their ability to focus the mind and bring inner peace, no matter where you are physically or mentally, is so powerful to me. The peacefulness that you’re looking for is right inside of you; that’s something I believe in and have learned through my practice.
What are valuable lessons learned from your training?
When I started practicing yoga, I thought it was for physical flexibility and strength alone, but I quickly learned that it’s for mental flexibility and strength just the same. What’s fascinating to me is that the practice of yoga and its effects can be realized both on and off the mat.

What does social wellness mean to you?
Social wellness is our ability to extend our care and attention beyond our own selves; it’s not just about your or me, individually, but rather about the wellness of all beings on this earth, including the earth itself!
