“The sweat/relax balance that is at the foundation of the Rise approach really makes its way into every area of life. There’s a time to work hard and a time to recover.”
Tell us about your early roots in your practice of choice
As a kid, being active was a given for me; I was always playing softball, volleyball, and other sports for fun. Growing up, it eventually became a lifestyle for me. Strength training is my practice of choice and is the most personally empowering practice for me. I’m a big supporter of demystifying strength training and making it more inclusive and accessible.
What inspires you in your practice?
I’m inspired by people who are curious to learn, who show up whether or not they feel fully confident, and who are willing to invest in their health & wellness.
What are valuable lessons learned from your training?
I’ve learned that downtime is equally as important as working out. The sweat/relax balance that is at the foundation of the Rise approach makes its way into every area of life. There’s a time to work hard and a time to recover. Recovery is a real part of the process for me; it’s not a break from the process."

What does social wellness mean to you?
I find that the client base at Rise is so willing to be here and to invest, not just in wellness but in the community too. I love seeing my “regulars” come back to keep working on fitness while building social connections - that’s social wellness to me."
