“Through the sauna practice, our bodies sweat out toxins and make room for replenishments — not just physically, but mentally too. That’s the essence of rejuvenation.”
Tell us about your early roots in your practice of choice.
I first got interested in sweat/heat therapy by noticing its benefits through my Bikram yoga practice. From there, I started checking out bathhouses and saunas throughout the city to educate myself on different methods to develop my own unique craft.
What inspires you in your practice?
I’m inspired by the ability of heat & aromatherapy to alleviate some of the negative physical & mental effects of day-to-day stress. Through the sauna practice, our bodies sweat out toxins and make room for replenishments — not just physically, but mentally. That's the essence of rejuvenation.
What are valuable lessons learned from your training?
Through the practice of aromatherapy, I’ve learned the art of conscious breath. I find that I’m able to tap into this reserve during tense or stressful situations in life, beyond the confines of the sauna, and find a state of greater balance.
What are some other classes you enjoy at Rise?
SAUNA SESSIONS with Jonathan & Omri; I love learning from their unique techniques.
What does social wellness mean to you?
Social wellness is giving others the tools, not just to help themselves, but to help other members of society live healthier and more conscious lives. That’s what I aspire to achieve at Rise through aromatherapy - a ripple effect of conscious living.
