Train for Your First or Fastest Race

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Our signature series returns! Join us for season five of our outdoor group running program with weekly themed courses, warm-ups, runs, drills and cool-downs designed by expert coach John Honerkamp. It all leads up to a final team 5K or 10K team race (your choice!) at Prospect Park on Saturday, August 24th.

OUR COACH

An expert in the field, John has over 20 years of experience coaching and is an accomplished professional athlete. As founder of The Run Collective, John is an expert on runner safety and established the first ever Runner Safety Awareness Week in January, 2019. John also famously coached Karlie Kloss for the 2017 NYC Marathon. For more on John check out his Website and Instagram.

SESSION FORMAT

  • 60 Minute Training Sessions
  • Warm Up, Running Drills, Cool Down
  • 2-5 Miles Per Class, Depending on Skill Level

TIMING + LOCATION

  • 7:00 AM Start
  • Monday Sessions Begin, 7/8 at Rise by We, 85 Broad St., lower level
  • Wednesday Sessions Begin, 7/10 at WeWork HQ, 115 West 18th St

  • Week 2 – Run + Strength Exercises that Enhance Proper Form
  • Week 3 – Speed: Sprint Mechanics
  • Week 4 – Running to the Core: Run + Strength   
  • Week 5 – Return to Intervals – Endurance + Pacing
  • Week 6 – Race Simulation Intervals
  • Week 7 – Bring Your A Game : Run + Mental Preparation
  • Race Day – NYCRUNS Brooklyn Ice Cream Social 5K or 10K 

PROGRAM INCLUDES

  • 7 Session or 14 Session Session Training Program for Six Week Duration

STRAVA APP INTEGRATION

Strava turns every iPhone and Android into a sophisticated running computer. This season, we’ll use Strava for Individual and Team Goal Setting, Mile Progression Tracking and Rise + Run Member and Community Connection. Instruction and integration will be explained in detail at our Week 1 Sessions.

PROGRAM COST AND REGISTRATION

Package One – 6 Sessions

  • 7 Sessions, One Class Per Week, Monday or Wednesday (your choice by week)
  • $50 for Rise by We Members – BOOK NOW

Package Two – 12 Sessions

  • 14 Sessions, Two Classes Per Week, Monday and Wednesday
  • $80 for Rise by We Members – BOOK NOW
  • $120 – for Non-Members – BOOK NOW

PRE-SEASON ADDITIONS

Prior to our Season 5 Kick off, we invite you to join us for the June 24 Pride at Rise “Rainbow Run.” This is a $35 donation based class for Rise unlimited members and non-members.
